1. Dual channel system
The dual-channel system, known as the red and green” channel system, is a simplified procedure for the examination of passengers arriving in Cyprus and operates at Larnaca and Paphos International Airports and Limassol Port.

According to the dual-channel system the passenger selects, on his own responsibility, to pass through the green or red channel, according to the goods carried by him. More specifically, if a passenger has nothing more than the duty-free allowances listed below as General Allowances and no prohibited or restricted goods, he may get out of the Customs controlled area through the GREEN CHANNEL, unless an officer asks him to stop for examination.

If a passenger has more goods than the allowances provided by the appendix for General Allowances, or prohibited or restricted goods then he must report to the RED CHANNEL and declare them to an officer. Goods which are imported for commercial purposes or as professional effects or for which prohibitions or restrictions are in force must be declared to Customs.
