Customs and Excise Department

Law 33(I)/2007, as amended by laws 77(I)/2007 & 160(I)/2007, regulates the adoption of euro by the Republic of Cyprus. In accordance with this law, when we have to convert an amount in pounds to an amount in euro, we simply divide this amount by the conversion rate (€1=£0,585274) and we round it to the two decimal digits down if the third decimal digit is up to 4 and up if it is 5 or more. In certain cases this rule is differentiated.

In this chapter you will find the equivalent amounts in euro of the amounts in pounds found in the national customs legislation. They are the amounts as converted using the conversion rate or as differentiated, as mentioned in the preceding paragraph. When this happens, a brief explanatory note precedes the tables.
