LATEST FIGURES: CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, FEB 2007
The Consumer Price Index for February 2007, decreased by 0,07 units or 0,07% to 102,08 units compared to 102,15 in January 2007. This is mainly due to decreases in the prices of certain fresh vegetables and petroleum products. Increases have been recorded in the prices of certain fresh fruit and bread.
The rate of increase of the Index and therefore the rate of inflation for February 2007 compared to February 2006 was 1,5% while the rate for January 2007 stood at 1,6%.
For the period January-February 2007 the CPI recorded an increase of 1,6% compared to the corresponding period of 2006.
