Latest Figures: Revenue from Tourism, Oct 2017

On the basis of the results of the Passenger Survey, revenue from tourism reached €277,1 mn in October 2017 compared to €266,0 mn in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording an increase of 4,2%.

For the period of January – October 2017 revenue from tourism is estimated at €2.493,8 mn compared to €2.228,7 mn in the corresponding period of 2016, recording an increase of 11,9%.

The expenditure per person for October 2017 reached €681,05 compared to €744,73 in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording a decrease of 8,6%. The expenditure per person/per day for October 2017 compared to October 2016 also recorded a decrease of 9,5%.

In October 2017 a decrease of 10,7% was recorded for the expenditure per person for tourists from the United Kingdom (from €825,59 in October 2016 to €737,08 in October 2017), 8,0% decrease from Russia (from €731,99 to €673,26 this year) and 21,7% decrease from Israel (from €635,33 to €497,38 this year).

The expenditure per person/per day for tourists from the United Kingdom recorded a decrease of 9,8% (from €80,94 in October 2016 to €72,98 in October 2017), the expenditure per person/per day for tourists from Russia decreased by 18,1% (from €82,25 to €67,33) and for tourists from Israel also decreased by 13,2% (from €124,57 to €108,13).

The expenditure per person for the period of January – October 2017 reached €731,63 compared to €749,30 in the corresponding period of the previous year, recording a decrease of 2,4%. The expenditure per person/per day for the period of January – October 2017 compared to the period of January – October 2016 also recorded a decrease of 2,4% (from €78,87 to €77,01).
