CAPA provides a 10-day training programme for newcomers, aiming at their smooth induction into the civil service through familiarization with the machinery of Government and the institutional framework and wider environment, Cypriot and EU, within which civil servants act.
More specifically, the induction programme has the following main objectives:
•To inform participants about the structures and functions of the state and the public service;
•To offer participants the opportunity to reflect on the role of the public officer;
•To promote the development of specific behavioral and technical skills necessary for public officers so that they can perform their job effectively.
Participation in this programme is mandatory as of April 2004, following a Decision of the Council of Ministers.
