Latest Figures: Imports, Sales and Stocks of Petroleum Products, June 2020

In June 2020, the month during which many COVID-19 containment measures had been gradually lifted in Cyprus, the total sales of petroleum products amounted to 92.550 tonnes, recording a decrease of 25,1% compared to June 2019. Decreases were observed in the sales of motor gasoline by 6,6% and in the provisions of aviation kerosene by 91,1%, while the sales of gasoil low sulphur increased by 3,0%. As far as the sales from filling stations are specifically concerned, these have registered an increase of 0,5% to 55.216 tonnes.

The total sales of petroleum products in June 2020 compared to May 2020 recorded an increase of 3,9%. A rise was recorded in the provisions of aviation kerosene, as well as in the sales of motor gasoline, gasoil low sulphur and liquefied petroleum gases. On the contrary, a decrease was recorded in the provisions of gasoil for marine use, as well as in the sales of kerosene, gasoil, light fuel oil and asphalt.

The total stocks of petroleum products at the end of June 2020 recorded a rise of 11,3% compared to the end of the previous month.

During the period January – June 2020, the total sales of petroleum products recorded a decrease of 17,8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
