LATEST FIGURES: CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, OCT 2003
The Consumer Price Index for October 2003 increased by 0,95 units or 0,82% to 117,45 units compared to 116,50 in September 2003. This is mainly due to increases in the prices of cigarettes, diesel oil and certain clothing and footwear items. Decreases have been recorded in the prices of certain fresh fruit and vegetables.
2. The rate of increase of the Index for October 2003 compared to October 2002 was 4,09% while for the period January-October 2003 the CPI recorded an increase of 4,32% compared to the corresponding period of 2002.
