Latest Figures: Imports, Sales and Stocks of Petroleum Products, Apr 2020

In April 2020, the second month during which COVID-19 containment measures continued to apply in Cyprus, the total sales of petroleum products amounted to 56.443 tonnes, recording a decrease of 55,1% compared to April 2019. Decreases were observed in the sales of motor gasoline by 70,3% and gasoil low sulphur by 50,0%, as well as in the provisions of aviation kerosene by 95,6%. As far as the sales from filling stations are specifically concerned, these have recorded a decline of 57,2% to 23.985 tonnes.

The total sales of petroleum products in April 2020 compared to March 2020 recorded a decrease of 46,6%. A fall was recorded in the sales of all fuels apart from gasoil for agricultural use. Indicatively, the provisions of aviation kerosene recoded a drop of 88,5%, motor gasoline decreased by 56,3% and gasoil low sulphur by 37,0%

The total stocks of petroleum products at the end of April 2020 recorded a rise of 41,5% compared to the end of the previous month.

During the period January – April 2020, the total sales of petroleum products recorded a decrease of 11,6% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
