Latest Figures: Imports, Sales and Stocks of Petroleum Products, May 2020

In May 2020, during which there was a gradual easing of the COVID-19 containment measures in Cyprus, the total sales of petroleum products amounted to 89.120 tonnes, recording a decrease of 33,4% compared to May 2019. Decreases were observed in the sales of motor gasoline by 35,6% and gasoil low sulphur by 12,9%, as well as in the provisions of aviation kerosene by 95,4%. As far as the sales from filling stations are specifically concerned, these have recorded a decline of 17,4% to 46.416 tonnes.

The total sales of petroleum products in May 2020 compared to April 2020 recorded an increase of 57,9%. A rise was recorded in the sales of all fuels apart from kerosene and liquefied petroleum gases. Indicatively, the sales of motor gasoline increased by 128,7% and gasoil low sulphur by 88,5%

The total stocks of petroleum products at the end of May 2020 recorded a fall of 15,5% compared to the end of the previous month.

During the period January – May 2020, the total sales of petroleum products recorded a decrease of 16,4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
