LATEST FIGURES: CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, JUL 2003

The Consumer Price Index for July 2003 decreased by 1,59 units or 1,38% to 113,75 units compared to 115,34 in June 2003. This is mainly due to decreases in the prices of clothing, footwear, furniture and furnishing items due to summer sales discounts as well as to decreases in the prices of certain fresh fruit and petrol (that was not in force for the whole of June). Increases have been recorded in the prices of car insurance, medical care and air fares.
