Latest Figures: Poverty and Social Exclusion, 2015

Based on the results of the Survey on Income and Living conditions 2015, 28,9% of the population were at risk of poverty or social exclusion. This means that they were in at least one of the following conditions: at risk of poverty (16,2%) (income poverty), severely materially deprived (15,4%) or living in households with very low work intensity (10,9%). In 2008 the at risk of poverty or social exclusion rate was 23,3%, with the respective individual rates being: 15,9%, 9,1% and 4,5%. Furthermore, in 2015 the at risk of income poverty threshold decreased at €8.276 compared to €9.614 in 2008.
