The Minister of Finance, Mr. Constantinos Petrides and the Acting Superintendent of Insurance, Ms. Tonia Tsangaris, through their greetings assured the Board Members of the insurance companies that they will continue to support them in their efforts to manage the current challenges, with a view to safeguarding transparency, solvency and confidence in the insurance sector, whilst ensuring the protection of the interests of the policyholders.

The main speaker of the seminar was Dr. Achilles C. Emilianides, who through his interesting and comprehensive presentation covered the topic "Board members of insurance undertakings, roles and responsibilities" both from a legal and mainly from a supervisory point of view.

There followed a presentation by the Audit Quality Reviewers of the Cyprus Public Audit Oversight Board, Mr. Panos Prodromides and Mr. Pambos Efstratiou on "Audit Committees of Public Interest Entities".

The final presentation covered the topic "Boards and the ORSA", and was presented by Ms Marilena Tamamouna, Control Officer of the Insurance Companies Control Service.

The webinar was successfully attended by 194 people from both the insurance industry and the auditors of insurance companies.
