1. Who is going to have access to THESEAS and how?

1. Who is going to have access to THESEAS and how?

Access to THESEAS will be offered on request to all of the Department’s partners e.g. importers, shipping agents, clearing agents, CPA, on completion of the Customs Business Registry (form C. 1000). You can, therfore, applied for access rights to the THESEAS system (form C. 1003 which will soon be in english). Click here: Return to the top of the page

2. What will be my cost in order to use THESEAS?

Your cost will include the purchase of hardware (in case you have such a need) and the cost of Internet connection. Click here: Return to the top of the page

3. As an external user, how can I connect to Theseas? What hardware and software is required in order to connect to THESEAS?

The minimum equipment required for access to THESEAS is the following:

  • A standard PC with Pentium III processor
  • Internet connection to an ISP
  • MS Windows 2000 with Explorer 5
  • You may continue to use your existing computerized system in order to make the preparatory work for the completion of the SAD.

    Instead of printing your SAD and submitting the hard copy to Customs, you will enter the SAD data in the Import module of THESEAS. You will be also able to send your declaration using the XML interface. Click here: Return to the top of the page

    4. Why have you decided the development of THESEAS in three phases?

    THESEAS is an extensive integrated Customs computerization project. The first phase covers mainly our pre-accession needs. The second phase covers the EU accession requirements. The third phase is the final integration part of the project. Click here: Return to the top of the page

    5. What action shall be taken when trying to connect to the Import System you get stuck with the message "Loading Java Applet" for more than two minutes.

    From the Start toolbar select Settings then Control Panel and then Java Plug-in. Then select Cache and press the button "Clear Jar Cache" and then you must restart the PC. The next time you enter Import System again, the Java Applet files will be downloaded automatically. Click here: Return to the top of the page
