On 9 May 2023 the European Union celebrates Europe Day, the anniversary of the Schumann Declaration of 9 May 1950. To mark this special day, the EU institutions, including EU missions and delegations around the world, organized various online and on-site activities, giving citizens the opportunity to discover and experience the importance of the EU.

To celebrate the day in Nicosia, the Representation of the European Commission in Cyprus and the Office of the European Parliament in Cyprus, in collaboration with the Press and Information Office, organized an event in Eleftherias Square, on Saturday 13 May 2023. At the event, the public was given the opportunity to learn about european priorities, initiatives, programs, and bodies active in EU issues, to visit stands from European countries, participate in interactive games and activities for children and attend artistic events.

DG Growth, as the Coordinating Authority for the Cyprus Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), participated in the event with its own booth, where it provided an interactive short quiz with easy questions for children and adults about the national RRP, provided "green" gifts and informed the public about the RRP.
