For the Programming Period 2021-2027, within the framework of the Cohesion Policy, Cyprus receives financing amounting to €969 million from four Funds:

European Regional Development Fund (ERDF):

The purpose of the ERDF is to correct imbalances between countries and regions of the European Union (EU). ERDF funding focuses on 2 objectives:

- Investments for Development and Employment – Strengthening the labor market and regional economies.

- European Territorial Cooperation – Strengthening cross-border, transnational and inter-regional cooperation within the EU.

For the programming period 2021-2027, resources of €466,9 million have been allocated to Cyprus from the ERDF budget.

Cohesion Fund (CF):

The CF provides support to Member States with a gross national income (GNI) per capita below 90% of the EU-27 average, by financing investments in the environment sector (including the energy and climate change sectors) and in Trans-European Networks in Transport sector (TEN-T).

For the programming period 2021-2027, resources of €178,3 million have been allocated to Cyprus from the budget of the CF. It should be noted that additional resources of €55 million have been allocated for Cyprus by the CF, which will be utilized in the context of the financial EU instrument "Connecting Europe Facility".

European Social Fund+ (ESF+):

ESF+ invests in human resources, mainly in the fields of employment, social cohesion and education, training and lifelong learning while promoting the fundamental principles of gender equality, combating all forms of discrimination and promoting equal opportunities for all.

For the programming period 2021-2027, resources of €222,2 million have been allocated to Cyprus from the ESF+ budget.

Just Transition Fund (JTF):

The JTF is the new financial instrument under the Cohesion Policy, which aims at a fair transition to a climate neutral economy, supporting the regions most affected by the transition to climate neutrality so as to avoid the increase of regional disparities. The Fund reduces the socio-economic costs caused by climate transition by supporting the economic diversification and reconstruction of relevant areas, helping people to adapt to a changing labor market.

For the programming period 2021-2027, resources of €101,1 million have been allocated to Cyprus from the JTF budget.
