A Communication Event was held in Nicosia on 29 March 2023, to present the 11 projects under the "Local Development and Poverty Reduction" Programme, co-financed by the EEA/Norway Financial Mechanisms 2014-2021 and the Republic of Cyprus. The Programme with a total budget of €8,1 million, focuses mainly on the sectors of environment, health, social welfare and culture. The implementation of the Programme is expected to be completed by April 2024 and its results will contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of the people in Cyprus.

Present at the event were the Project Promoters, representatives of the Directorate General Growth, Ministry of Finance, as the Programme Operator and the National Focal Point of the Grants, representatives of other governmental Services, involved in the implementation of the Grants, as well as Ms. Lina Marcinkute, Cyprus’s country officer at the Financial Mechanism Office in Brussels.
